Across three countries and three schools, we used film to explore the things that are most important to us.

These are our films and they show who we are and what we think. We want grown-ups to listen to us!

Threads of Exploitation is a compelling short documentary created by young filmmakers. It sheds light on the pressing issues of fast fashion, touching upon the harsh realities of employment practices and sustainability challenges within the industry.

The Politician That Didn’t Care is a short film crafted by young storytellers, centring on the principles of good governance. It explores the consequences of political apathy and the strength of collective action. As the community unites to challenge and expose political scandals, this short film highlights the importance of holding leaders accountable.

An Environmental Story is a short film created by young filmmakers, manifesting their concerns about environmental degradation, over-construction, and the loss of public land in Malta. This film highlights the power of collective peaceful protest as these young advocates come together to make their voices heard and champion a sustainable future.

Why Bullying Hurts Us/Our Solutions is a short film crafted by our team of young filmmakers. It delves into the emotional, psychological, and social repercussions of bullying, exploring the pain caused by bullying and presenting practical solutions for creating safer, more supportive environments.

Understanding What Childhood Means to My Grown-Ups is a heartfelt short film created by our young filmmakers. In this project, the participants interview the adults in their lives, prompting them to reflect on their childhood memories. The film beautifully captures the intergenerational essence of the project, reminding us all that we were once young and highlighting the timeless connections between generations.

React! is a film that focuses on the importance of peer support for young people who experience bullying at school. It also criticizes adults’ dismissal of children’s experiences of being bullied as mere pranks. The bullies give in when Kasia’s peers stand up to them.

I Feel So Tired! shows children criticizing parents pressuring their children to study too hard, even at the cost of their mental and physical health. It is only when the girl’s mother experiences exhaustion but is forced to work by her boss that she realizes what her daughter has been going through and changes her behaviour.

Adults, Hear Us! urges adults to respect children’s voices. It is a series of vignettes from school and family life presenting various everyday situations in which adults dismiss whatever the children wish to share with them – for example a conversation between a grandson and his grandmother about who knows better or between  a student and his teacher about forgetting to bring a piece of paper for the arts class. The children conclude with a request for adults’  respect and attention.

The Importance of Human Rights is a film in which children define human rights as the crucial set of laws that guarantee people’s freedom and well-being.

What It Is Like to Be a Child These Days? shows young people pointing out how in the past children were exposed to violence and had to work.  However, as they also note, children nowadays often suffer from video game addiction.

Superheldinnen is about three ordinary schoolgirls who want to save the world instead of going to class. On their mission, the three discover their new superpowers. This enables them to solve and overcome problems such as environmental pollution and disputes.
